Youth Council Update

These last few months have been busy for your Youth Council. In November, some of our service projects were oriented around memorializing our beloved late mayor, Major Brent Taylor. We wrapped lights around light posts down Washington Boulevard with red, white, and blue tinsel along with flags bought by residents. We also passed out green light bulbs as a tribute to all active duty soldiers, veterans, and those who died fighting for this great nation. The Youth City Council would like to thank all who have served and are currently serving now. Our hearts and condolences go out to the Taylor family with this sudden, unexpected, devastating loss for a man who did so much for our City. Major Brent Taylor and family, thank you.

This month we also completed our annual turkey drop, which provides a Thanksgiving dinner to a few North Ogden families that may not have had it otherwise. This fun activity helps us learn how to find the best value for the most food possible, as well as providing service for those in need.

During the month of December we look forward to spreading holiday cheer. We start the month off handing out hot chocolate and cookies at the annual lighting ceremony. We also help in the Santa house all throughout the month. Make sure you stop in to visit our Santa at his North Ogden house!

If you know someone in 9th-12th grade, tell them to check us out! You can pick up an application to join us at the City Offices during regular business hours.
