Employees of The Year

Jason Reney-Public Works

Jason has been with the City since 2005. He is the Culinary Water Superintendent. Jason serves as an excellent example to the others in the department. Jason has accomplished so many things this year for our water department, starting with 2 major water line replacement projects: one in North Oaks Subdivision, and the other on 3100 North between 450 East and 1050 East.

That in of itself would have been a major accomplishment, but he also began the replacement program for our PRVs throughout the city, changing out four regulator stations this year.

Also Jason and his crew have the meter reading system running better than ever, it is running above 99% every day, which means that we are finding problems sooner and consuming water better than ever before.

Thank you Jason for your hard work and dedication.

Nigil Bailey-Parks and Rec Dpt

Nigil is the Aquatic Center Manager and has worked in various positions for North Ogden City since 2010. Nigil is an excellent team player and can always be found helping others with projects and lending a helping hand.

The employees of the department selected Nigil for this award for always going above and beyond what is required. He is always very professional and does a fantastic job managing a seasonal staff of over 70 employees who are responsible for the safety of over 70,000 guests at the Aquatic Center each summer.

Beyond his accomplishments at the aquatic center, Nigil has assisted in securing thousands of dollars in grants for department projects and is a Lifeguard and CPR/First Aid trainer for all of our staff. He has a good attitude and is fun to work with. Thank you Nigil for being such a great member of our team.

Bruce Higley

We are happy to announce Bruce Higley as the Employee of the year from the Administration, Finance, Building, and Planning Departments. Bruce has worked for the City since 1989 and has worked in several departments. He is currently one of our building inspectors. Bruce is always willing to pitch in and help the City out with any repairs, code enforcement issues, or anything else which comes up. He has been invaluable this year as we remodeled the city hall in getting items moved around and ready for the contractors, or cleaning up after them. Several contractors have commented on how great it is to work with Bruce because they know he is going to follow the rules but will work with them on getting re-inspections done quickly and efficiently. Also, on occasion where there is a question about what the rules really require Bruce will find out the answer or solution that works best for the specific situation. We are lucky to have Bruce in our City.
