National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
BY JULIE ANDERSON
Visit your local law enforcement officers for the National Take-Back Day Initiative on October 28th from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. You can dispose of medications at North Ogden Smiths Marketplace, Harrisville Walmart, and Valley Market in Eden.
Did you know it’s environmentally unsafe to dispose of medications in landfills or sewer systems? This event provides safe disposal locations for citizens to dispose of unused or expired prescription medications properly. Removing unneeded medications from homes can also reduce access to addictive medications and accidental or intentional misuse. Vaping devices and cartridges are also accepted.
There are also Permanent Drop Box locations available year-round to dispose of prescription medications anytime. You can find them in our community at the North Ogden Police Department, Harrisville Walmart, Harrisville City Office Building, Weber Human Services, and the Weber County Sheriff’s Office Lobby.
Help keep your family and community safe by safely disposing of your unused or expired medications on National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.
