
• The council will be holding a truth in taxation hearing in August. There will be more information on the actual date and the details around the hearing, but the current limits the council has imposed would be changing the tax rate from .00118 to .001289.
• The council has approved the sale of a property west of the O’Reilly Auto Parts, which will be developed into commercial units. The development won’t occur for a year or two as the existing detention basin is relocated to a new location.
• The council has approved some amendments to the development agreement at the Village at Prominence Point to facilitate a reduction of impact on the cottages and townhome area by relocating the originally planned four-story senior independent living facility. These units will now be closer to Washington Blvd. and further away from single family homes.
• The council has approved the construction agreement with Big D for the new Police Station. There will be a ground-breaking in the near future and we hope to be moving into really soon.,
• The council has approved providing some help to the Weber County Children’s Justice Center, which helps with children who have been exposed to traumatic events in their lives. The facility will be county-owned, but the services they provide help those young folks get through their difficult experiences.
