The time to prepare is now… and we can help!
Pleasant View City sponsors a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training program twice each year to prepare our residents for potential emergencies or disasters that we may encounter in our area. This free course is designed for anyone wanting to gain some basic training, as well as for current CERT team members who wish to refresh their skills. Through hands-on practice and realistic exercises, you will:
• Learn how to safely respond to manmade and natural emergencies
• Help organize basic disaster response
• Promote preparedness by participating in community events
The course covers five modules, taught once a month for three hours, totaling 15 hours of training. Attendance at all five modules is required to complete the course; however if you miss any of the classes you can make it up by attending the next time it is taught. At the completion of the training you will receive a certificate of completion, a CERT handbook, and equipment from the City to use in event of an emergency.
