At the end of June, the Weber CTC Youth Council attended the Utah Youth Prevention Summit in Bryce Canyon National Park. Between sessions, our group spent a lot of time hiking around in the beautiful red rocks of Southern Utah.
We saw many stunning things while we were there, but the pictured tree really stuck out to our youth council members because it exemplified a lot of the lessons they learned at the summit. During the training, a lot of time was spent discussing and learning about the topic of resilience. The youth council presidency has the following message they would like to share with their community:
“Resilience is being able to withstand challenging conditions and bouncing back. When a testing situation comes into our life, it is important to continue on and learn from it. Life will never not be about learning. Where we are is where we are meant to be. Just like the tree in the picture, we can all grow through the hard things.”
The adult members of the Weber CTC are continually inspired by the young members of the Weber CTC Youth Council. Their passion for helping their peers and improving their communities is so motivating. We hope you will read this message they wrote for you and remember that you can do hard things.
